  • Mobee Magic Charger for Apple Magic Mouse

Magic…. ok maybe it’s not magic but technology can be just as fascinating and full of wonder.

Spotted this on the Apple website and sourced it out at London Drugs, what we have is an inductive charging station for your Apple Magic Mouse.

So what is this inductive charging thingy mahoo? the easiest way to think about this is that it works much like a electric tooth brush (Soniccare, Oral B), normally to charge an electronic item there must be a plug or metal contacts in which the electricity can be transferred.

With Inductive charging it uses an electromagnetic field to transfer energy between two objects, here are some advantages of this:

: Charging your Magic Mouse will be as easy as placing your mouse on top of the base station.

: Stop trashing batteries, Stop disassembling your Magic Mouse to change your batteries.

:Did I mention the word ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD!!! OMGWTFBBQ

    :AND IT LOOKS FRICKEN COOL

So here’s the knitty gritty, the price $49.95 ($59.95 at London Drugs but they price matched with Apple’s website)

A full charge from empty takes five hours and lasts 6 days but if you make it a habit to place it back on the charger this should never be a problem at all.

    Unboxing:

The packaging is very well put together in a minimalistic style, inside the box you find a battery pack, charging pad and USB cord.

    Installation:

Easy Peasy, no really….. Just take the battery cover off of your magic mouse then remove the 2 double AA batteries. Then take the battery pack and put it into the mouse.

Flip the switch to on and place on the charging mat.

Green means go and it’s ready to use!

    Final thoughts:

It’s a well put together item that’s easy to use and set up, the price is worth it although there is not too much to compare it to. Apples rechargeable batteries and charger is like $29.99

I really like the styling and hope inductive charging catches on so that we have more products we can easily charge without the mess of wires and plugs.
